The most dangerous prayer

Do you want to know how to take your life to the next level? Want everything in your life to change? Want to experience a closer relationship with God?

Let me introduce you to what I think is the most dangerous prayer in Scripture:

"Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting" (Psalm 139:23-24).

Listen to God and Do What He Says

WARNING: This prayer might change your life forever! God might ask you to start doing something new, something that you think is impossible. God might ask you stop doing something that has been stealing your joy for a long time. Whatever God tells you to do; He will empower you to obey.

I dare you to commit one week to asking God what He wants for your life and do exactly what He says. Meeting Jesus is just the beginning, and no one who meets Him ever stays the same (John 10:10). Every day is an opportunity to live an abundant life, to follow Jesus wherever He may lead. Never settle for the lie that your life doesn’t matter; never settle for the lie that God can’t use you.

You aren’t done. God’s not done. There is so much more He wants to do and can do in your life! I don’t know where you are or what you are going through, but there is good news for you: If you aren’t dead, God is not done.

Growing People Change

The idea that there is more God wants to do in our life can be encouraging and scary at the same time. Are you stuck in a season of fear, worry, or hopelessness? Growing people change, and you do not have to stay where you are right now. It is a spiritual impossibility to follow Jesus and stay the same. You are not destined to be stuck.

Are you complacent? Not content, but complacent. Do you know there is a next step God is asking you to take but you keep putting it off? Growing people change, so it is impossible to follow Jesus and stay the same. God has greater things for your life; don’t settle into a season of stagnation. Don’t let fear rob you of joy that comes from obedience.

Commit one week to praying the above prayer. Ask God to give you wisdom and clarity on your next step. Ask God for help. You serve a good Father who loves to answer the prayers of His children (Matthew 7:7-11).
