I will not stop loving you

'Though the mountains be shaken
    and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
    nor my covenant of peace be removed,'
    says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

No matter how hard we try, we will always let other people down. We’ll forget a birthday, say the wrong thing, misread a social cue. Even when we want to love each other well, we still fail. But God’s love, it never fails.

God doesn’t change His mind or renege on His covenants. When we asked Jesus into our lives, we became part of God’s family forever. No matter how messy our lives get or how troubled our hearts are, God does not abandon us. He promises to love His people and take compassion on us even when our lives are in chaos.

Reflect: 

• Do you ever feel unlovable? What makes you feel that way?
• When God says His love is unshakable, how does that make you feel? Does it affect how you interact with Him?
• Is there any area of your life where you need God’s peace and compassion? Spend some time in prayer and tell God how you feel.
